Four CVA Thunder athletes passed major sports milestones in recent weeks.
Herringshaw rolls 300
On Jan. 21, CVA senior Brady Herringshaw rolled a 300-game during a match with Holland-Patent. This was his first perfect game in competition.
Terzioski sets new hoops record
On Feb. 11, CVA senior Izzy Terzioski scored her 1,021st varsity career point on the basketball court. She surpassed former record-holder Reilly Rich's 1,019 points. Izzy still has sectional play to add to her totals. Just days before, Izzy became CVA's second 1,000-point scorer, joining Rich as the only two CVA girls to break the elusive 1,000-point mark.
Edwards and Reed top Section III and head to States
Gene Edwards and Cooper Reed both took first place at the Section III, D-II Wrestling Championships on Feb. 15. Gene, a Frankfort-Schuyler junior wrestling for the Thunder, scored his 186th career win as he took first in the 131-lb. weight class with three pins :33, :34, and 1:00. CVA senior Cooper (152 lbs.) continued his winning ways, bringing his career wins to 205 with two 15-0 technical falls and a 4-1 decision. Both wrestlers advance to the state Division II Championships at the MVP Arena in Albany on Feb. 28-29.
