Sergeant Major Ret. Stephen Smith spoke to Shawn Wiles' Participation in Government class about the origins and importance of Veterans Day. SGM Smith is Central Valley's MORIC Educational Technology Leader, coordinating the district's technology equipment and network. He is a major supporter (no pun intended) of CVA's NJROTC program.

CVA NJROTC at Barringer Road

From 4th grade teacher Kate Hitchcock, "I invited the ROTC students who came to Barringer for our Veterans Day program to come talk to my students after the program. We talked about what ROTC is, why they joined, what patriotism means, what it means to honor our Veterans and why it's important. It was a GREAT conversation and my students LOVED it."
