The National College Match is a college admission and scholarship process through which high-achieving students can be admitted early with full four-year scholarships to some of the nation’s top colleges and universities. These university-funded scholarships cover tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses. All Match Scholarship packages require no parental contribution or student loans, but may require student contribution in the form of federal work-study, summer work, and/or student savings.

Alina's accomplishments are impressive, especially given the context of this year's application cycle.  Of more than 20,800 applicants, just 10 percent were recognized as Match Scholarship recipients.

The University of Chicago is universally recognized for its devotion to open and rigorous inquiry, the strength of their intellectual traditions, intense critical analysis, and free and lively debate. It is ranked the 5th most selective college with a 5% acceptance rate.

"We are extremely proud of Alina," said CVA principal Dick Keeler. "She has been a great student at Central Valley Academy and will represent our school and community proudly at one of this country's most prestigious colleges."

"Also, it is amazing that our school district has had two winners. Alina will join her sister Ayesha who received a College Match Scholarship to Chicago last year."
